I love it! My main rig has a few bargain parts in it, but it’s far from a budget conscious build haha. With that being said, I have always loved piecing together ultra budget/scrap part systems. I should be posting one soon of a build I did for a friend with an i5 2500 and an r9 380X once I get around to snapping some pictures of it. Anyway, keep up the great work! These are always my favorite builds to check out on PCPP.

Was this a build from spare parts or just some insane deal hunting? Either way, looks like amazing price to performance! +1

Yeah, it's not perfect with the placement of the radiators. Crossing the tubes over like that is really the only way to pack it all in there.

I have the same issue with the magnets. An excessive amount of time spent on cable management really helped although it doesn't ever quite sit flush.

I expect the same thing! That 8gig kit was left over from a previous build. I just refuse to pay $75 for that extra 8GB so I'm waiting for RAM prices to go down. In the mean time 8gigs works for most all things I do (mostly gaming).

Thanks! I've always had a fondness for purple, black and silver together.

Thanks! I played around with a couple different placements of the radiators and where the tubing ran, but this configuration honestly looked the best.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but you'll only be able to baseclock overclock your CPU since it's a locked, non-K variant.

Also I'm glad you like the way she looks! I tried my best to keep it looking good while still getting the best I could for the money.

How much of a noise reduction would that provide? I initially had the stock fans in push, but I moved the news ones to pull to both hide the ugly color of the noctua fans and to make cleaning a bit easier as dust won't get trapped between the radiator and fans as easily. I'm glad you like the build though! As big as the air 540 is, those two Fury cards sure make it look smaller haha.

I haven't gotten around to over clocking my GPUs yet, but at stock speed I managed a firestrike score of 19,108 with a graphics score of 30,555. I added a picture of my resaults above.

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like it. I love the look of black and silver together. I've got the same color combination on my keyboard and monitor too.

It seems to handle the pair without a problem! I haven't had a chance to do much of a comparison between one card and two yet but I'll let you know when I do.

That R9 Fury deal is incredible. I just picked up 2 of them myself for a crossfire set up in my rig.

No they did not. The two 140mm fans I have on the top of the case did, but I moved them to the top and added the three 120mm ones to the front.

I know right? Almost 5 years old now, but it works for the time being. When are the pascal cards expected to be released? I'm a fan of nvidia but the AMD 300 series has been very tempting.

At the moment I'm just working with the stock cooler. There was no chance of fitting an aftermarket cooler in my old case. So just like a gpu upgrade, overclocking had to wait. I'm looking into getting the H100i since this case was practically built for it. I'm not sure though. Something about mixing water and electronics makes me nervous!

Yeah I didn't either. Found it at Microcenter for cheap. And a new GPU is next on my list of parts. I couldn't get one without upgrading the case first. I'm leaning toward the 390 like you said.

The 60gb? It's just a boot drive. No need to be big.

If you read the description we salvaged the ram from his old PC. It wasn't by choice that we got 1 stick of 8.

Check the description for info about the power supply. And those pictures were taken during the building process. It looks much better now I just don't have current photos.

I wouldn't say I'm on a tight budget, but I'm definitely on a poor college student budget! I've been looking at the R9 380 4gb. For a little less than $200 it's a good price to performance ratio and will probably last for a while longer.
