The case was originally less than half the $400 price that it is right now. The price shot up some time after the guide was posted. We're exploring alternative options now.

The power supply wasn't cheaped out on. All power supplies in the list are good quality. However, there are stock and pricing issues right now due to the pandemic, so the list was expanded recently.

Finally, please keep feedback polite. There's no need to be insulting.

What would you like to see changed, and why would you like to see it changed?

Comment reply on Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming Build

As covered in the description above,

The X570 chipset was selected rather than the B450 chipset in order to bypass any BIOS update issues that would occur when combining a new Ryzen 3000 series (Zen 2) CPU with a B450 chipset.

Another option is the B450 MAX boards from MSI, but those are potentially running up against stock/pricing issues. They are currently being used in a couple lower budget guides though in the hopes of saving some money, but we are monitoring those in case they get out of hand anyway.

What is it about the PSU that leads you to claim it's of insufficient quality? In general, please refrain from calling PSUs bombs/fire risks etc unless they've truly proven to be.

You're welcome to dive in and make more specific recommendations for SSDs. As it stands, the parametric filter is selecting for the best-priced SSD to save the builder more money.

Comment reply on Build Guide: Entry Level Intel Gaming Build

The parametric filter is currently selecting DDR4-3000 RAM because that's the kit with the best price. It wouldn't make sense to pay more for slower RAM, even if in the end they run at the same speed.

1TB has been added now.

Just a heads up, this would more accurately be labeled an addition, not a correction.

At the moment, dropping 3200 speed memory from the list increases the price by $20, which is non-trivial for a performance increase that may not be worth it.

As already stated in the description above, storage needs differ from person to person and should be adjusted as needed. There is no one-size-fits-all capacity. For some, 1TB is more than too much, and for others, it isn't nearly enough.

The recommended power supply capacity from the manufacturer is not much better than a shot in the dark because they don't know what quality PSU you're using or what the rest of your build (and thus its power requirements) will be. 550W is much more than sufficient for this build.

A mod deleted your thread on /r/AMD, not you. And you seemed quite aware of where you were posting, considering it was after you'd already posted it to /r/AyyMD, and it was removed there for having to little account karma, which you then acknowledged in your post in /r/AMD.
