Not sure he/she knew how to optimize what they spent. 5400RPM is not smart either is the 1070 SLi as a 1080Ti is better AND cheaper imo. 60hz 1080p monitor... It's an o.k build but way too many shortcomings.

Why do you not address why all the big reviewers advise the TR if doing programming and such?

I am simply stating that you are giving advice based on what you read and,not from experience as your builds are not HEDT. If they where then I wouldn't mention this.

Very similar to someone who played little like fútbol trying to tell someone who's played pro level what to do. Your just not qualified to give an opinion on the top tier as you havent owned nor personally tested one im sure.

So again answer why the main reviewers raving about TR? Idc what CPU he buys but I know at 1440P and 4K the 1950x is equal to the 7900x but the 7900x will be much slower in encoding videos and coding.

I.e gaming, streaming, doing Visual Studio on a 3rd monitor, etc.

If his main focus is gaming get a 7820x its not rocket science.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "High End streaming PC"

I've been out of this conversation.... Really?

All the reviews TR dominated 7900x minus gaming; including Linus, Paul, OC3D, even HardwareCanucks. Why is everyone saying the same things I said PRIOR to release. IF HE IS INTO PRODUCTIVITY THE 1950X IS BETTER.

God damn stop making a point that A CPU is better than B CPU bc. A CPU is best at gaming but B CPU is better at more. Not everyone strictly games fool.

And like I said before your systems ARE LOW TO MID END.

An i5....really?

Your really telling me about your PSU. Get outta here.

A 60Hz 1080p monitor, a cheap Acer monitor.

No offense but your build is not high end and none of your builds are. Like I said, stay with what you know which isn't the HEDT. My CPU and Mobo cost more than your entire build. Heck my GPU and monitor cost more than your crap build.

Now stop stalking me kid

For someone claiming to want longevity it doesnt make sense to go x299 as Intel doesn't keep sockets for long w,new hardware. AMD has already stated x399 will be good in till 2020, meaning you have a cheaper upgrade path w.out a new Mobo.

For longevity more cores & threads are the most "future proof" you can obtain.

X299 isn't bad the thermal issues and them not soldering is a design flaw that won't come w.software updates. Future iterations can fix this but the prices on the 16core is rumored close to 2k!

I have had Intel CUPs for 12 years. TR will be my first AMD CPU. Ive never even owned a AMD GPU.

Yes, your build is not HEDT by any means and you have a 1080P 60Hz monitor. I am not being rude I'm stating would I observe.

AMD has stated there will be dozens of coolers at launch and per Toms Hardware there are dozens that ate already announced.

How was the video you posted after optimization; it was 6 MONTHS ago.

The 1800x is better at [everything] than a 7700K minus gaming which it isn't like a 20% decrease or anything drastic they are close.

Threadripper is not a new architecture but will be twice as powerful than the 1800x w.64 PCIe.

Speaking clearly not from experience since all your builds are low end. Reason why Linus and even Jay praising Ryzen but you call it "hype". You obviously dont know as much as you claim. And then you post a video that was before the optimization that everyone that's really in tech knows improved performance drastically.

Most coolers will have a problem cooling it? There you go with more of your opinion with 0 facts. What a joke.

What? https://youtu.be/TDvk9_iTq6Y

https://youtu.be/0ypELk3jl48

1800x is superior to a 7700k in performance in a OVERALL PC setup. Even, when gaming its so close it makes no difference.

The i9 7900x has less cores and hyperthreads than threadripper AND has known heat issues.

Thanks for the response Hector. I'm currently on a ~4200 budget. Seems a lot but with the 1950x, x399 mobo, and 2 monitors I'm already at ~2500$. What is so much better about the case that you recommend the 80$ premium? I have not seen either as I have a HAF X case atm and no local PC Store.

The 7900x IS NOT right up there with the 7700k what are you talking about? And why is it that above 1080P the difference is almost 0? Intel right now wins gaming very slightly but loses on EVERYTHING else. He stated, gaming, streaming, and slight programming. Because of this threadripper is the best solution for a HEDT build atm.

Stop replying to me man, you gave bad advice and are still trying to justify BAD advise. 16GB of RAM isn't bad 1x16GB is. As his 7700K supports dual channel 2x8GB sticks is needed to utilize the benefits. Maybe you should read the definition of negligible because your advise is, "small or unimportant as to not be worth considering". Is 1 stick enough for "almost everything"? Maybe maybe not, To advise someone that's an option is foolish because it's not advised. Why do you see NOBODY with 1 stick of RAM?

O and ya - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B017RKV4N2/ref=psdcmw_172500_t3_B0171GQXME

16GB cheaper than your option and will give better performance.

You can't teach a fool and obviously your gonna keep defending wrong information.. stop responding.

It's a 4GB card. Idc the price that's irrelevant. It's on par with a 1060/ rx 480. Not even a 1070 can play high settings @ 4K. A 1080Ti struggles at times but your claiming your 4GB VRam card can play 4k games . Post a video showing your FPS on YouTube I call B.S.

Your build is nice. I only am saying I know 100% you can't play a AAA at 4k at or above 60FPS with even settings on mostly High forget ultra.

Because RAM is either Dual channel or Quad. 1 stick of RAM is negligible to performance in any build. That's what's wrong and shows your knowledge of how PCs perform is small.

His build makes no sense.. and judging by cable management he probably just got the most expensive he could find. Getting a 7700K for his needs is crazy imo. Also, 700$ for 64GB of RAM? Really? Titanium 1600W PSU for a single 1080Ti? Then to top off the hypocrisy he gets a 1080P 60hz monitor!!! Lol!!!
