I am in the process of writing something myself in Python, using the psutil module, as it gives access to almost all of the underlying raw data I need. I thought about just using the Windows-based GUI monitoring apps provided by the motherboard and GPU vendors (ASRock and MSI), but with those I would have almost no control over the visuals, and in any case they were designed for a larger screen.

Writing it myself means I can have real-time graphs of temps, CPU usage, fan-speeds etc, as well as newsflashing important system messages. I also get 100% artistic control of the visuals!! I will upload some pictures of it once it is in a presentable state.

I used Corsair keycaps from Amazon.co.uk. The remaining black ones like the spacebar, are positions where they would not fit. All others fit perfectly. I particularly like the font on the Corsair keys.
