Frame rate drops in games since i got a new CPU

Ever since i got a new CPU nearly every game i play runs at least 60 fps or more. after about 5 minutes the fps drops to around 10 fps, after a couple of seconds it goes back up but the same thing happens after 5 minutes. It doesn't matter if my settings are set to high or if they are set to low it always happens. Im not sure what it is.

CPU - AMD Fx-8350 GPU GTX - 970 MOBO MOBO - ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2 RAM - 16GB DDR3 1866 MHz

Monitor the CPU temps and clock speed using software. If it gets too hot you problem might be the CPU cooler / thermal paste / intake and exhausting of air out of case. Worth monitoring the GPU as well since either component will cause frame drops.
