PC to play FFXV in 4k

So my old computer just kicked it, and I'm ordering a Seasonic FOCUS Plus 650 Gold to see if it's the PSU. Unfortunately, I don't have a tester and the wires on my current psu are all black which just isn't helpful so new psu it is.

The thing is, my current rig is kinda lacking in stuff that I want now. This is my current rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/d6nfLJ

And I really want to play things on the ultra setting. So, your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to build a list that'll play ffxv in 4k, preferably air cooled and intel based.

  1. Do you have the 4K monitor already?

  2. What is your budget?

  3. Assuming you need a Windows 10 license yes?

  4. You ok harvesting your 2TB disk from your old machine?

  5. Is the DVD burner a requirement? If so, are you moving it from the old machine as well?

Easy to do under 2K.

This would be a very slick looking black and white build well cooled on air and come in under budget. You could spend another few bucks and move the AORUS Ultra motherboard if you wanted, but it really wouldn't be necessary. It could be done cheaper for sure, but I went for a mix of great performance with a nice visual appeal.

Also, I added a 1TB SATA SSD along with what you already have, mostly because it fit the budget, and why not.

If you want 4K Ultra for FFXV the bad news is nothing exists at the moment that will run this reliably at 60fps or over. It is what it is, a very demanding game. To get over 45fps, it will cost a lot of money, easily $3.5K when all is said and done. You will minimally want 16GB 3000MHz + RAM, an i7 Coffee Lake or Ryzen 7 2700X, and RTX 2080Ti. The GPU will determine what frame rates you will get, a 2080 for instance will not hit much over 45fps on Ultra. The RTX 2080Ti will barely hit 55fps on this game., for me it is hovering low 50's but I am not OC'ing the GPU.

  1. No not yet but I'll be buying one from a friend.
  2. Less than 2k would be nice, if possible.
  3. Yes, I'll be needing a key.
  4. Yes, I'm moving the hdd.
  5. Burner is not a requirement, since it's been over a year since I used the thing, and I can just use a usb drive if needed.
