"Looking for New Build Advice" will use for Cinema 4D with Octane Render + CPU based Render and After Effects.

Hey everyone. I am a motion designer working with C4D and Octane/after effects at my current company and would like to purchase a new machine to work on at home.

Unfortunately, I am still new to the hardware side of computers. I have started a custom build here but Im not sure that these are the best options for what I need. I would really appreciate any suggestions on choosing the right parts as it will be a huge purchase for me.

The machine will mainly use Cinema 4D with Octane Render, but sometimes the standard or physical render engine as well. Also it will use a fair amount of After Effects.. Adobe CC.

So far I have purchased a monitor and GPU. Will need SLI configuration for future GPU's..

My budget is $5000

Here is my list, so far. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/dVxpgw

Thanks a lot for the help!!! Jordan

AE works better with TR than the high core count Intel CPUs. reference

It's at least competitive in 4D's CPU rendering as well.

I'll agree that spending so much on storage isn't the most effective use of the money saved by going Threadripper- more RAM, a dedicated AE system, peripherals, etc. would definitely be the better bet.

No problem, just one of those weird things to take note of.

It's why a lot of professionals consider using multiple PCs these days- run a TR4 build handling rendering over the network along with NAS functions and then a workstation with something like an 8700k.
