Mobo wont accept any RAM in Channel A

I recently upgraded my 4gb tempory stick to 4 4GB sticks in total. But my MoBo won't boot if any RAM is in channel A (left side). I swapped both sets in channel B, and it boots just fine, so the sticks aren't at fault. But if I put in any RAM in Channel A, the CPU and DRAM debug lights flash. I do have the latest BIOS, XMP is on. Ideas? I contacted MSI, and they told me to RMA it, but I thought I would give this a shot.

What does the motherboard manual say?

And if MSI says RMA it, go for it. They'll send you a brand new board and you won't have to worry about it.

Not brand new, refurbished. The manual is of no help. I read through it.

Did they say they'll send you a refurbished motherboard or a brand new one?
