Nice, I think that's a good choice, I like EVGA personally. I might actually just stick with the reference card. Once I fixed the fan curve, even under load it sits at 65C.

Just installed my new 1080 SC. Fits perfectly. Better than my old GTX970.

Temps are good. ~65-70 @ heavy usage and 50% fan speed. Very silent fans.

I am dealing with a lot of coil whine when under load =(. Not sure if I'm going to RMA the card or not.

Great! but bummer about the coil whine. EVGA are pretty good about RMA's if you do go that route. I'm still sitting happy with my FE card, does a great job where it is. Finally got my HTC Vive aswell; what an amazing piece of technology that thing is, I was skeptical until I demoed one and I can say its got some amazing experiences right now even if they are mostly short games.
