Honestly, the only thing I'd want would be the 1070. Give the rest to my cousin so he doesn't have to get as much for his PC build.

I'm looking forward to losing another one of these so much. Now if any staff member feels pity for me that I never win any of these and I'm still using an Athlon X4 760K PM me and hook me up with some stuff. I might even upload a completed build if you ask nicely ;).

  • 2 points

Hello, all as we near the end of the giveaway I would like to thank all of those that have entered as well as provided feedback. It is always great to work on giveaways with great partners like PC PartPicker. Beyond that what really makes it great is it an opportunity for an awesome community of users like yourself here at PC PartPicker as well as PCDIY enthusiasts as a whole to win some pretty sweet hardware while also providing feedback on what you want to see in our products.

Without the engagement, feedback, and passion that exists from PC builders like yourself ASUS would not be where it is now and we would not be able to do giveaways like this. Again thank you and to those that have entered best of luck!

If you have ideas for future giveaways or contests feel free to let me! Additionally, my inbox is always though if you have feedback on features, functionality or design!

Thank you for being part of the PCDIY community! Best of luck.

  • 2 points

Didn't win, but still fun! I've been part of the PCDIY since 2001! I only have 2 personal DIY builds in my time but have over 10 different component builds (Over 20+ just putting a PC together) helping friends, family, and for work. Until next time!

  • 1 point

Updated. Took a little longer to update as I wanted to double check with ASUS on the exact version of the 1060/1070 being given away.

Good luck in the giveaway!

Sorry to hear that it's not available in other countries. Maybe PCPartPicker can accommodate a giveaway specifically for you in the future! Good luck to everyone who's entering. Including me! :)

If I win I be able to fix up one of these two rigs I planned out a while ago, just edited the case and video card. 1. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/HYj74C 2. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/8Kj74C Now which one should I go with...

I also didn't forget about the ssd , I don't know what I'll do with it.

I also fixed it up to show the price of the build (if I won) to get an idea of how much it would cost to finish the build.

  • 1 point

Sorry, but granting third-party "app" access to my Facebook account just to verify I visited a vendor's feed is absolutely not happening.

But, sure, I'll follow your YouTube channel; no problem there...

  • 1 point

Gleam is a pretty well trusted app for giveaways. That said, I understand your hesitation, and am glad to hear you were able to enter through one of the alternate options. Good luck in the giveaway!

  • 1 point

Is there any way to un-link my Facebook or Twitch with Gleam?

  • 1 point

Sure, in Twitch go to your settings and look under "Connections". You can remove Gleam's connection from there. Similarly with Facebook, go to your settings and look for Gleam under "Apps".

  • 1 point

Thanks.

  • 1 point

Make a new fake page? But I agree, I don't even have a facebook.

  • 1 point

Yeah, I was all hell no when I saw that

Other Gleam giveaways verified Facebook page visits without granting access

  • 1 point

I did... I may or may not be regretting it now.

  • 1 point

unless you have some crazy secret to hide, i think you and everyone else will be just fine.

  • 1 point

We got another one wearing a tin foil cap!

  • 1 point

Pity it's another thing that's North America only, which is not the centre of the known universe, despite what some people think. (Nothing against you PCPP though) My GTX 1060 Dual is arriving tomorrow, and by the time the contest ends I will have already got some extentions from CableMod, so if I could enter and somehow won, it would be too late and rather frustating, so maybe its a good thing I can't enter...

P.S. Perhaps mention in the article it's US/Canada only?

  • 1 point

I updated the article to mention the region requirement. We love when the contests we help our partners promote can be available world-wide, but it's just not always feasible given the legal requirements involved. Sorry!

  • 1 point

Not mad that the contest is region locked, but why do companis sometimes do this?

  • 3 points

Legal and cost reasons. Giving away stuff is surprisingly hard - because many people in the past have abused it to their benefit (i.e. scamming, not giving things away they promised, etc). Thus there are laws that protect people from malicious giveaways. For instance, if you run a giveaway meeting certain criteria even in Rhode Island, you have to register with the secretary of state. Now, multiply that to the unique legal requirements of every country, even every state/province within a country (hi Quebec!) and you've got a contest that takes hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars just to run.

  • 1 point

Shipping costs/paper work.

  • 1 point

Is anything being done to prevent multiple entries with dummy accounts? This contest has been open for a day and has 36,000+ entries already. Compare that with last spring's MSI giveaway of a full computer (no stats yet on the most recent one) which had a total of fewer than 3,000 entries over the whole span of the contest.

  • 2 points

There are 84 possible ways to earn entries, not including the optional items which can be repeated daily. So that's not the number of people entering, but the number of actual entries overall (across all entrants).

  • 1 point

I'm not sure what that means. 84 ways? The contest rules say "Each individual may enter the Promotion only one time regardless of method of entry."

  • 2 points

As it says on the giveaway page, there are 18 ways to enter and you can unlock 66 more entries. Per the rules, you are not allowed to create multiple entrant accounts, but the giveaway gives lots of optional entry opportunities for each entrant.

I'll have to check with ASUS to know for sure, but my guess is that the ever growing number at the top of the giveaway page is the total entries across all entrants, which on day one could be up to 84 per person.

  • 1 point

I'm not trying to be difficult, but I just have no idea what you're talking about. Neither the entry page (https://gleam.io/GI2ZB/asus-pc-partpicker-giveaway-asus-aura-rgb-motherboard-graphics-card-and-led-kit-) nor the popup with the Terms and Conditions from the bottom of that page mention anything about 18 or 66 entries. Are we looking at different pages?

  • 1 point

I see now, that comes up after you have already entered.

The terms and conditions should be updated to make that less confusing. Also, there are no dates on the official terms and conditions page, it just says XX. :)

  • 1 point

when u live n Venezuela and u just realise the giveaway is not worldwide T_T

  • 1 point

Cool another giveaway!

  • 1 point

Seems some of the entry options just don't work. Specifically the Thermaltake and cable mod facebook links.

  • 1 point

Did you allow the Gleam Facebook app permissions? I don't think those entries will work without it.

  • 1 point

I'm pretty sure I gave it permissions. The OCZ facebook works and when I click on the other two it just infinitely opens new windows that says

Facebook Authentication Failed Sorry, we could not authenticate with Facebook. We received the message:

invalid_credentials

  • 1 point

I'm not sure -- it seems odd that one works and the others don't, though. Have you tried anything like logging out and back into Facebook before trying again?

  • 1 point

Yes I just tried that and same thing happened.

  • 1 point

When I mouse over the OCZ name it displays facebook.com/OCZStorage/ while when I mouse over the other two no link appears. Maybe that has something to do with it.

  • 1 point

wont even let me enter wont take birthdate

  • 1 point

If you are not over the age of 18, you need your parents to sign you up. Make sure you are typing your birthday like this:

DD/MM/YYYY

16/03/1998

I know it wasn't taking it an all I'm not a kid darn near 40

  • 1 point

Dutchie here, rip

  • 1 point

Dang, saw that there were already 60,000 entries already, then I scroll down and see 'do the above to unlock 66 more chances to win!'. So everyone has about a 100 entries, so most likely still have a 1 in 10,000 chance once all is said and done most likely. Acceptable and I'm on company time to go through all these things to get the entries.

  • 1 point

I have no friends on my social media who would enter so I'll be missing out on some entries!!!

  • 1 point

It'd only raise your chances by less than 1%, even just entering for 1 point/entry is practically the same as doing all 84 points once you get up to 1000s of different people entering. If it was just like 100 people entering, then yes doing all these things would significantly increase your chances. Its like the lottery, a person buying a single ticket has the same chance as someone buying 100,000 tickets in the grand scheme of things. At least these entries just cost time, rather than money.

  • 1 point

1% closer to winning is better than 1% closer to losing confusious say, you should give me a dollar a day cause it's less than 1% of your income and in the grand scheme of things it won't hurt you! :)

  • 1 point

There doing this as tip-of-the-hat-ish thing to components that come with led right? Soooo... why not add part restriction that says if a part has led and what type(rgb or single color)

  • 1 point

If I win this i'll be the happiest human alive.

  • 1 point

So many giveaway contests lately...

...Just a quick question, aren't the quality of the CableMod custom sleeved cables mediocre? Or is that just a myth?

  • 1 point

myth.. they wouldn't be in business if that was true since all they sale is cables.

  • 1 point

Then why is Logisys still in business, despite all of their products being junk?

  • 1 point

Lies, their Cold Cathode Kits/LED Strips are awesome. Cases and PSUs you win.

  • 1 point

I have heard about the Logisys LED strips not sucking, but their cases and PSUs definitely suck.

P.S. There are more polite ways to express your opinion without telling someone else that they're lying when they're not (even if they're wrong).

  • 1 point

Some people say there are issues. I can't comment, but the real issue IMO is whether they break your PSU warranty. Seems to be a gray area.

Entry period ending October 13 is awkward ... because the Terms and Conditions say

"The drawing will take place on or about October 7th, 2016 in Fremont, California. The potential winners will be announced on or about October 8th 2016."

  • 1 point

ASUS had originally planned to run the giveaway a bit earlier, but we hit a delay on our side. Thanks for the heads up, I'll let them know to see if they can fix it.

  • 1 point

Can terms and conditions be modified after people have already entered the contest under the original T&C's?

  • 1 point

ASUS is running the giveaway, so I'm not sure how it works, but I let them know. Given the correct dates were given in the sections above it, I imagine they will be able to correct it to match.

  • 1 point

thank god for delays cause now i get a chance to enter lol

  • 1 point

That doesn't make it awkward lol Awkward would be me staring at you whilst petting my dog, listening to the cataracs and dev kill a track fist bumping with my alternate hand, and mouthing ILY. That, is awkward

Say it with me: "Homemade donuts". Let it just ring in your ear a bit. If that doesn't get my foot in the door then perhaps this will: I am friends with Christy Mack, yep the mack attack herself. Just HMU on twitter bros youll see whats up. Can you guys please make a giveaway to people under 18? I want to enter, but, I cannot. I am 16, and I have a passion for computers, but cannot enter these giveaways. I am not speaking for myself, but for everyone who is under 18.

  • 1 point

Thanks for the feedback. This is something we have worked on in the past and it has to do with legal considerations. Rest assured we are looking at options for the future where entries are an option for those under the age of 18.

Ok. Thank you for that response! BTW I LOVE ASUS!!! If only I had money, I would buy the GX800 when it comes out. I just cannot believe how it can have 384KHz audio!!! I make music, and that would DEFINATELY help alot.

You can have your parents or an older sibling enter for you.

They will not. They hate me.

  • 1 point

Hate you?

  • 1 point

Yeah, they think I am addicted to computers, yet I am not failing classes, and my mom hogs our (my family) most powerful laptop: i7-6700HQ, 16GB DDR4 RAM, GTX 965M; overclocked by me. She uses it for word editing. We have another laptop with an SSD and dual core i7-5500U, which is more than capable of doing that. I need to use the 6700HQ laptop, but she "needs" it. Even though I tell her "No you don't you do not need that much power for what you are doing". And she thinks I am addicted (because I have to wait longer cus the games take longer to load because the dual core laptop is a DUAL CORE CPU MOM). Anyways, there you go.

The giveaway page itself should also show the winner once they've been confirmed, but we'll also update the post above once we hear. Good luck!

It will be announced in the widget for the contest ( gleam IO landing page ) but the winners ( both 1st & 2nd ) will be provided to PCPP for posting.

How are winners usually contacted?

  • 2 points

Directly via email where they are supplied with an affidavit that must be returned. Once received we proceed with prize fulfillment. This only occurs after review has been completed of the actions completed by the selected winners.

Hang in there! Still a bit more than an hour to go in the entry period. As for the winners, there's not an exact time for the announcement. It should be sometime tomorrow (Oct 14, 2016, PST) once ASUS can confirm the winners.
