My very first PC build! Needed something to write papers on when I start back up in school soon. Figured why not have some fun with it too! Console only gamer looking to try out the PCmaster race.
Build when fairly easy and without issues for my first time. Got it all set up and running smooth. Feels nice and snappy and loving the oversized ultra wide monitor. Will look for a 144hz at 4k when they are finally at a decent price.
The GPU in some of the pics is shown in the second slot and in some is in the first. I originally had it in second PCIe slot cause I read about the chipset fan being covered in the first slot and causing overheating but also if your GPU is in the second slot you cut your bandwidth in half(lane width is x8 in second slot and x16 in first). I moved the GPU to the first slot and no over heating issues yet! However I must add that the USB C front panel header on the Taichi mobo will be completely covered by the GPU if it is in the first slot. I emailed Asrock and they are in fact making angled cables to fit in the small amount of clearance and will ship the cables to you by the end of the month if you has the board and this same issue.
As for the GPU itself, Card is not loud like others say but in my case it definitely needed an undervolt. I undervolted to 1910mhz at 987 mg from its stock 2075/1203 but it still averages close to the same clock speeds at 1850mhz whole my GPU temps stay around 74C and junction around 85C.
3 intakes on the AIO in the front and a 140mm intake underneath (hidden by the shroud). 140mm back, and two 120mm top exhaust. Might as a third fan to the top for looks but I dont think its needed for functionality.
So far I have only done heaven benchmarks and played We happy few and hellblade for testing.
My ryzen 3700x is sticking around 28C and while gaming it's only got up to 32 and that's with my pump and fans all set to the quiet setting. I havent tried any overclocking yet but I might keep it at stock because it seems to be performing perfectly fine as is for my needs.
