Description

This was my first build using UnRAID for the OS. It is left on 24/7. Though it is connected to a theater projector via HDMI, a monitor isn’t needed on a regular basis. For this reason, the Snowblind Noctis case with a transparent monitor built-in was perfect for system monitoring.

Note: In addition to the listed parts, I moved five hard drives from my old computer (4TB Seagate SSHD, two 6TB WD Reds, and two 10TB WD Reds). The new shucked 12TB serves as a parity drive (allowing to easily upgrade any of my other drives when they fail). The two NVMe drives are cache drives formatted with btrfs.

Very nice addition with adding a desktop environment to then unRAID Linux config, then adding a transparent monitor on the side panel!

Cool, thanks for your service...small world! I did my SERE training in three parts. CST was in Colorado Springs while I was at the Air Force Academy (2005, I think). Resistance was a top-off program at Fairchild (2007, if memory serves me), and water survival was in Pensacola in 2008.
