Description

Yup i sold my PS4 for the pc master race. I had the storage, video card, and power supply already but the ps4 buys the rest. Real fast so far an no problems. But im not done. When i sell my old build, im getting a 1070 or 1080, and an m.2.

Part Reviews

CPU

So great upgrading from an X4 860k. Overclocked to 4.3 no problem. Very good cpu. Especially for the price i got it for ($210) off ebay.

CPU Cooler

First of all this cooler cools well and the blue led is cool, that's all the pros i can think of. The plastic pins used for this are so fragile and finicky. If you do get this, put it on as the very last thing before you complete your build. If you even touch it while you are working on this thing, it could come loose and fall :/.

Motherboard

Great mobo. Easy to navigate bios and real easy to work with. With the price i paid ($83) i couldn't ask for better.

Storage

Such a fast SSD and so small 10/10 IGN

Storage

This is an old hard drive i put in my build. It works.

Video Card

Very fast, especially with overclock. 2GB is restricting nowadays though.

Case

So great to build in. But the plastic window can scratch easily so try to be careful with it.

Power Supply

It works really well. Try to go for 80+ Bronze at least for gaming builds though.

Optical Drive

Works. I don't know what else to say.

Operating System

Windows 10. I needed it. Great features.

better picture would be grand! Welcome to the PCMASTERRACE! btw that PSU will do just fine with a 1070.

haha, nicely done and beautiful build. I would do suggest you get a better PSU if you want to run a 1070+!

The EVGA 500 W-series isn't actually that great. EVGA makes some not-so-great units and the 500 W is one of those. You'd want a SuperNova G2 or better (PLEASE DO NOT GET THE BQ SERIES, THEY ARE ANDYSON/HEC OEM AND BOTH OF THOSE BRANDS ARE PRETTY BAD) if you upgraded.

AWESOME choices for parts! I'd have a hard time doing that well myself, and the addition of an M.2 soon as well as a 1070 or 1080 would make this quite a powerful build. I'd consider (but by no means necessary) getting a slightly more powerful PSU if you're going to put in the 1070 or 1080, but this is definitely a really solid build. I'd love some more pics of the inside especially btw.

That psu has enough wattage for a gtx 1070. Might aswell get a better m2 instead of a new psu.

yeah, i see where you're coming from, it really does depend if you want to overclock the GPU aggressively or not. if its only a bit, go with the M.2.

Wattage doesn't mean nearly as much as quality. You need wattage for parts; you need quality to not burn your house down.

Yes i plan on getting a semi modular 650W PSU because cable management in the back is a mess right now haha. And thanks so much for the kind words.

thanks very much for the response! semi modular can really make a huge improvement, and I'd actually love to see a pic of the internals if possible. thanks!

Wait wait... a green is more expensive then blue?

Yeah, The Green's are more for long haul's. The Blue drives are just their standard, run of the mill WD drives
