Description

My very 1st Ryzen build. Normally used for gaming and light productivity.

CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 OC to 3.9Ghz @ 1.3v on stock cooler (planning to buy AIO cooler in the future to hit that 4.0Ghz).

GPU: Galax GTX 1060 EXOC White 6GB OC to 2004-2048Mhz.

Updated my MOBO BIOS to get my 3200mhz speed on my 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V (2x4) kit - XMP

Custom made table due to tables here in the Philippines are way too expensive. LOL

What's the Ryzen 3 1200 like? I have been looking to get this CPU but i'm not sure if i should.

It can handle most of the games when paired with the right GPU, the temps are good even at full load, overclocking it is easy using stock cooler.

Does this cpu works without bios update ? Some people are saying that ryzen 3 won't post without a new bios.

  • 1 point

Yeah it works, but for the RAM that I have, I need to flash the bios for the update, due to it won't work specified ram speed 2133 instead of 3200. But now it's working as should be :) nothing to worry for this kind of CPU :)

For a GPU, I'd recommend GTX 1050 TI to GTX 1060 6GB. And on the AMD side, RX 460 to RX 580.

Yeah you can get the sweet spot for 1080p gaming with those cards paired with the Ryzen 3 1200. More than that will result in a bottleneck.

just get the Ryzen 5 1600

kinda sucks if you can't do 1080p but you have a 1060 but whatever floats your boat I guess

This looks awesome. I'm really excited to see what people can do with these 1200 ryzen chips. Def look into overclocking a bit more with the gtx 1060. You can really push it and see some noticeable performance gains ( I have a screenshot of my overclock on my 1060 on my build page). That guy was def right about the mason jars. What beverage is in there?

  • 2 points

Yeah it's actually pretty capable especially with the 1060. I saw your build and it's pretty cool, too! About the mason jar.. XD it has Pomelo juice in it :D Btw, i saw your car.. what happened there?

My Cadillac malfunctioned and I got into a bad car accident, been going at recovering fully for a over a year. Thanks for asking! I gotta take better pics of it but I'm happy with it. I keep bouncing around the idea to go to an i7 but I don't think I need it.

  • 3 points

Sorry to hear that mate. Hope it never happens again, keep safe XD there's nothing wrong with i7 except for the price, but performance wise it's good. Ryzen family comes factory unlocked, and they're cheaper too, best for my budget XD

So, I have to ask. Is this meme language or a real language? I do not mean to insult.

Edited because I sound like a jerk: Awesome build btw, been thinking of recommending something like this for a friend!

It's fine mate :) he's from our country (Philippines), so he asked with our local language. Sorry if this bother you, we're just talking bout my FPS and setting in PUBG :)

Thank you mate, I would definitely recommend this build :)

Oh... Sorry bout that. But yeah, for a sub/600usd build if you do more budget things with case and storage, its pretty cool!

How is the Tecware Edge Case? Do you recommend it? Thanks!

Yeah, It's a good case; It has a good built quality, minimalist design, have a plenty of room for cable management, and supports up to 240mm radiator for future upgrades :)

I must say, I think this is the cleanest looking budget build I've seen in a while. I love that you managed to keep it aesthetically pleasing while also choosing parts that match your objective nicely. And those fans... are beautiful! What are they? I don't see them in the parts list.

+1 mate! great job

  • 1 point

Thanks! I appreciate it :D I've actually put a lot of thought into this build. Took me quite a while before I finally managed to find all the parts that would go well with what I had in mind. As for the fans (RAKK Ounos X), they're from a local brand here in the Philippines. Here's the link if you want to check them out. They have a lot of cheap stuff that does the job XD lol https://www.rakk.ph/

Hi, not sure if you're still active on this forum. Pinoy here, I just want to see the looks of the matx board on a tecware edge (mid tower case).

Yo! :) There's a slight gap from the bottom since it was a MATX board, I'll upload a decent photo inside the board.

Hi Carlo, how's the msi board?

  • 1 point

It's good, considering the price, it suits for my budget build. Once you BIOS update it to the latest version it works well with other parts especially the RAM. It doesn't heat up during full load (43 C).

  • 1 point

I'm having difficulties picking a board for ryzen 3 1200. I'm planning to overclock the chip to 3.7-3.9 if possible using a stock cooler only.

Another thing is the choice of the case. Haha.

Some says that msi board is not reliable specially am4 boards.

  • 1 point

I think MSI along with ASUS and ASRock AM4 boards are all reliable for overclocking. I easily get 3.9Ghz with my R3 1200 with 1.3v (60'ish degrees on full load).

Don't go with expensive cases, just go with the cheap but good build quality ones :)

Well not for me, I have no issue with my MSI board, and I think this is a good deal for budget enthusiast.

I have the Ryzen 3 1200 paired with the stock cooler and was wondering what is the maximum clock speed that It can handle without crashing. Thanks.

  • 1 point

mine is stable: 3.9Ghz @ 1.275v well every processor is different when it comes to overclocking, some can run @4.00Ghz.

  • 1 point

Should I wait for the new Ryzen 3300 processor to come out instead of getting the 1200?

  • 1 point

How did you do that to your cpu cooler please tell me. Can you also send me a link to where you got those case fans they look sick af. Can you just send me like the link to your build please.

  • 1 point

Hi, there's two small screws right under the amd part of the CPU cooler, and the rest of it is a snap on lock, so you need to bend it slightly to remove, then paint it whatever color you want :)

For the fans, I got it from a online shopping app (Lazada) exclusive here in the Philippines, just search for white led ring fan for desktop :)
