Coming from a laptop user building my own desktop has been awsome. The power and performance is a big diffrence.

CPU- went for the 1500x for the 95 TDP cooler and higher clocks

Motherboard- this was a hard choice, flopping back and fourth between msi boards. I wish now i would of saved 40 dollars and went with msi's pc mate, the mysitc light is meh. I just wanted a board with a higher power phase.

Ram- no brainer when i saw it on sale at bestbuy for a 16 gig kit. I know people say things about the low frequency and honestly i dont care. I dont play triple A titles.

Grphics card- with the market its already slim pickins anything 220 ish and under. i paid more for the gigabyte because of the backplate. It runs WOT 70 to 90 fps at maxed details and the 3d dynamic enabled. Along with sc2, diablo 3 and other blizzard titles and EA games.

Monitor- this was also a steal, i thought it was when i saw it on sale for 129.99. Then amazon had it for 99, can not beat the 75hz and its freesync and IPS. Colors are great no backbleed

Psu- wish i would of gotten another unit. I hate the wide rippen flat cable fpr the 6pin gpu connector but other than that it works great.

Case- i love this fractal design g series. For a budget build its great, the size of the side window sold me. Cons front led case fans wont fit anywhere else, screws are small. The other 2 corsair fans wont fit up top. The holes arnt threaded. And maybe its just me but the screws that came with the fans are too short to go.through the fans and the case holes.

Overall everything functions and works great considering the gpu market, having to buy a monitor and os i think the money is well spent and a balanced build. Id love to hear everyones thoughts :)

Looks nice and tidy, but isn't that bottom fan being used as an exhaust in it's current orientation? You may want it as an intake. Cooler air coming in from the bottom and front and the warmer air rising going out the back and top (can't see if you have a top exhaust fan going from the photos). Just my opinion, but good build overall.

First Build?? Its AMAZING!!!! My first build was horrible. The cable management is so good and the custom paint job on the fans and PCI slots.

Thanks!!!! I really wanted to do a couple more things yellow. I gotta figure put how to take the blue tabs off that pny ram snd paint them.

2 questions why did you use static pressure fans for airflow in big spaces like inside the case and why did you go with the yellow? Lol seems odd

miken125 submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Ive done more yellow, i wanted a yellow and black themed pc. Ive painted the front mesh in caution stripes, and the blue tabs on the pny ram. The yellow for the rgb on the board looks greenish :( I went with the sp's because the two where i have them there needed. I got 4 but you can't relocate the white leds. Didn't know that til after i bought the case and was going to put the other set of fans in tge front.

Catarino. 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

You mean you can't remove the white LED fans that are installed in the case?

gaben777 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

You most certainly can. I have this case and I moved the 2 front to the top of the case.

I'm basically building the same PC, however I was wondering if, with this case, would 2 120mm and then 2 140mm fans fit? You also said you didn't like your PSU, I also hate the flat 6 pin ports but cant really find anything comparable with price besides a 450w, which is getting a little low for my comfort levels.
