1st off I want to say that this was the 1st time that I have custom painted my RIG and it turned beautifully.
If you guys liked the pictures, then you will LOVE the badass video I did on it, its available here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPDEUGXhLmc
My Previous Ultimate Gaming PC - The Yeti - has made the 1st page on this PC Part Picker and I expect this build to surpass it :) The Yeti - https://pcpartpicker.com/b/svTWGX (Yup thats me)
Purpose: Editing and Gaming. Mostly editing. I produce Technology videos about PC Builds, Phones and pretty much everything in tech that I find interesting and I needed to build a PC that can handle that. I shoot videos and Edit in 4K Resolution. I am also rocking 2 Samsung 4K Monitors so power is definitely needed.
CASE: Ever since I laid eyes on the NZXT H440 case, I knew I had to have it. It is super sleek, has no drive bays, covers the power supply and has the color theme that I am looking for.
Motherboard: I simply went with the best at the time, the ASUS Rampage Black Edition was the only choice I wanted, it has the black and red theme that I want and has a bunch of cool features. According to this website and NZXT, the motherboard and my case are not compatible with each other, but I said F**K that and still purchased it because I wanted both the case and motherboard, I was not about to settle. I did some minor modifications to the case to make this work and it is explained in my video.
CPU: The CPU was purchased before the X99 was available and I went with the 4930k since the 4960x had a marginal performance difference with a higher cost, so it just didnt make sense to make the jump. Going with an Intel over AMD was a no brainer.
GPU: Went with 2 780ti's for beast performance. I went with the Overclocked EVGA model since it sucks air from the case and lets it out from the back, perfect for my airflow setup. These GPU's will definitely aid me in Editing and will be more than enough for my gaming needs. At 1st I painted the GTX LOGO Red, but after installing it in the PC I realized that there was too much red in the Case and decided to wipe off the Red and leave it pure white to balance the colors. It looks way better white!
Note:PCPartpicker did not have the model 03G-P4-2883-KR, which is the GPU that I used in my build so I just selected the 2881 instead.
RAM: I had to go with the best ram sticks money can buy, the Dominator Platinum’s were an easy choice. 32gb of ram with a speed of 2133mhz will definitely come in handy when editing in 4K resolution. I dont like the fact that it has silver bars, so I decided to do something about them to match my Theme.
SSD: Picked up the 2 of Samsung's 840 Pro SSD's (256gb ea) to run on RAID 0. This would be used as my primary storage unit. I dont have a Hard Drive installed because I dont need one. I dont think I have ever used anything over 300gb in all my years, so 500gb of space is plenty for me. I went with RAID 0 to get that extra boost in speed.
PCI-E Storage: For my Operating system and important programs I went with a pci-e based SSD for much faster speeds. I mean 800+ read/write speeds are insane AND the ROG RAIDr looks so damn sexy. I will also install the games that I play a lot on this to take advantage of the load speeds.
Cooler: Pretty obvious selection here. The best closed loop cooler money can buy. Not interested in an open loop, especially with an NZXT case this small. It has too much black and I wanted to give it a little red to match my theme slightly.
PSU: I wanted to be future proof which is why I went with 1200watts. The AXI series also come full modular which is another thing I wanted. I hate cables and this helped me with cable management a lot.
Fans: Went with 1 Air Flow 140mm for the Exhaust and 2 Static Pressure fans for the Cooler. Corsair was a very easy choice because they come with optional color rings that I can select to match my theme!
GPU Backplate: Was contemplating on whether to paint this red as well, but then realized that there would be too much red in the case. Back plates are a really nice addition for aesthetics as well so I couldn’t pass that up.
Paint: Had to grab the high heat resistant paint so it wont damage my parts.
Custom Cables: Stock Black cables just don’t cut it for me. Went with the Custom colored Corsair Cables for the PSU and Red cables for the SSD’s from Alchemy.
So that’s my build, feel free to leave any feedback (good or bad) in the comment section down below.
I strongly recommend you guys to check out my channel, I do these types of builds most of the time. (youtube.com/thramkar)
