Description

I wanted a cool name too though it's still not living up to it's name (at least for now).
Ran out of cash, because I live outside of US where electronics are much more expensive thx to <cough, cough> tax Vampires.
It's my first build, feel free to critique it. Made some stress tests and benchmarks and everything works just like it should.

Parts from sales: CPU, GPU, HDD

Keyboard - It's my first mechanical keyboard, for gaming its great though I wonder if I wouldn't prefer cherry brown switches, it took me about a week to get used to writing since its so sensitive even now sometimes i catch some not wanted letters cause I accidentally tap the surface of the wrong button, at least it's one of the cheapest mechanical keyboards on the market :)

If I had slightly more cash I would've gotten those parts:

Type Item
Motherboard Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Storage Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

The build is mainly for gaming, but I'm also gonna do a bit of video editing and as a computer science student I'm writing few multithreded programs and graphic editing work (Corel, Autocad, Maxon etc). I would say it's ~ 60% gaming to 40% work

PS. I had to pay to this 23% of Value Added Tax(VAT) so + ~$340.

Part Reviews

CPU

Really good CPU, I have no problems with it. If I had a bit more cash for my PC I would go for i7-4790k, even if I didn't have any plans for OC (but would OC then by ~10%).

Over all worth its price.

CPU Cooler

Its simply great if I'm on my headphones unless I have complete silence in the room I don't even hear it working, and when I'm playing forget hearing it at all, plus it also has great cooling capabilities.

Definitely worth every penny spend on it.

Motherboard

Fine sturdy motherboard, I was a bit rough with it during the installation, but didn't break anything, its definitely a good piece of equipment.

Memory

Well its RAM and it does its job just as it should, nothing more to add on this part.

Storage

Simply marvelous, I just love when my Windows starts in less than 10 seconds :D

Storage

Very good HDD, no problems with it, in my opinion worth its price.

Video Card

Works fine, but I got it a month before gtx970 went out and I would really prefer that one over this (its more powerful than gtx770 with similar price range).

Case

Its very good case. It's simple, has good cable management (though it could use a little bit more space at the back). You need to remember to push the 8pin CPU power connector through small management hole at the top right before installing the MB (I unfortunately forgot).

Power Supply

Great PSU, no problems with it, really easy CPU management thanks to its half modularity. Mine even came with 10 zip-ties :D

Operating System

Works fine, I've went and done unthinkable and got it over 7, there are few performance upgrades. It looks almost like 7 with proper software ("startisback"), thanks to it my windows launches straight to the desktop and I don't even have to look at metro (except when I want to change something in account setting etc), plus free update to windows 10 is coming soon.

Monitor

It an amazing piece of equipment, no ghosting or any problems with it. Works really well for its price range, I'm thinking of getting a second one now :)

Mouse

It's really comfortable mouse, I usually used lower profiled mouses up till now so it was a bit strange getting used to it, but now its hard to use a different one.

Still a bit pricey.

Headphones

One of the best headsets I've ever used, microphone added to it also works great especially with the surrounding sound dampening, the foam was a bit though at the beginning, but over time it started fitting my head and its one of the most comfortable headphones I've used.

Definitely worth the price.

I don't know why, but it is 23% for most stuff while some are way cheaper 8%, 7%, 5%, 4% and 0% not sure which ones apply to which products, but one of them is food etc.

I'd like to get your comments about the case, that's missing from your notes!

Sorry that I'm replying kinda late.
There is a bit about the case though not anything specific :)

I'll be using the 2nd pic to explain as there's the back with the whole cable management.

The cable management is a bit thought because there's little space at the back, the bottom cables(power, reset, front audio, usb) barely fit, that's why I had to zip them serially. You also need to remember to put the 8pin CPU power connector through small management hole at the top right before installing the MB (I forgot), that's why there are 2 flat cables going through a protrusion that (I think) reinforces the case, and is also a tight fit, otherwise it would be much better. Rest of the cables are put behind the HDD shelves and fit without any problems.

There's also a space under the HDD for screwing in ssd, but the sata power connector didn't fit there's a bit too little space (i didn't want to pressure the cable too much) and since I didn't have a flat version of it I screwed it above HDD.

Over all it's still a fine and solid case, everything fits and I think it's worth its price.

Well I saw an electrical plugin and I made a guess. A very poor guess.

There's no electrical plugin/socket on the pictures. So whatever you could mean.

Sixth picture in the lineup has what looks like a plugin in the background.
