So this is my second build on this site. I had the 8700K and Aorus Gaming 7 on my last build but ended up selling it to a friend that was in dire need for an upgrade. This is my new build and second time using the Cougar Panzer chassis. Only this time its the Panzer G(which is not on the list but it's basically the panzer with tempered glass on the front and top as well). I will probably upgrade to the Evolv X when it comes here at the end of November but I must give the Cougar its props for being amazing to build in and a very good chassis. Bit the bullet and went 2080TI as well. Went with the Gigabyte as the Aorus 2080ti is not out yet and the price was the best. Card got delayed till Friday this week delivery wise so my 1080 Ti sits in there for now. Will post better pics tomorrow but here's a sneak preview. Any questions please don't be afraid to ask
The only custom cable I'm having a bit of a hard time is the 24pin Atx as there is a slit and no rubber grommets on the cougar. Using a "cheaper" customer cable for now with no combs but I am gonna remedy this by getting the Cooler master right angle adapter for the 24pin and will use the same pro cable as the one feeding my GPU
Also must add that the Aorus requires two 8pin EPS for CPU power. You don't need two as I confirmed with testing(it's for extreme overclocks) but my Ocd wouldn't let me have it any other way. Was a PITA to I stall but Corsair customer sleeved cables were perfect here (will be hard to get Pro cables in there)
I have a lucky CPU I think. At 4.9Ghz on all 8cores and a room temp of 25degrees my CPU never went above 76 degrees in OCCT. Yes it's not an upgrade from the 8700k at all and I wouldn't do it but in the position I was in to help a friend out I'm quite happy with my chip even tho all the initial reviews weren't so flattering.
I maybe shouldn't have gotten the RTX but you know you only live once and I had been saving for the new Gen for quite some time so hopefully they do get better with driver updates and DLSS becomes a thing. Ray tracing itself would be nice for cut scenes and stuff but it in game an it's implementation will probably be the norm in another 3 to 4 years so no use talking about that for now
Also in regards to the corsair fans and even AIO cooler.. I'm fed up with corsair. No need for the mess needed to run the RGB (I have the commander pro) and the mess of unnecessary wires out the pump of the AIO. We pay all that money for what. A mess with wires that are too short and each fan having two wires creating a cable mess. What the hell corsair. Shame on you. Cougar has a very awesome implementation on their fans and the new Thermaltake Trios are simply amazing and simple and perfect and will recommend to anyone of these Corsair ones. And please don't say Corsair have better software cause it took them forever to get right and only now are the bugs becoming non existent
UPDATE so decided to try a little something different to change the look a bit more and ended up giving the front panel a plastic dip in carbon look. I think it looks quite amazing
