I know my way around this thing and can tell you that this was one great deal. It's going to be difficult to let go of (upgrading to Skylake i5). I built this in October 2015, and got the GPU/PSU during Black Friday events. Anna was therefore built as the season got a bit chilly.
It's quiet, looks nice, and I display it on my desk ALL THE TIME ~heart eyes~.
Currently running at a stable overclock of 4.3GHz. Though this chip can run 4.6GHz with the current cooler I didn't want to put undue stress on it everyday, as the case doesn't have proper airflow. Cooled by a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo w/ (2) Corsair AF120 White LED Fans.
The Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 4.0 -- perfect for this system as it's a modern mobo that is amazing for overclocking with. I haven't had a single issue and it's done it's job extremely well. Set in is 8GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws X 1600MHz 9-9-9-24. Does the job very well, and I don't see any flaws in it.
Running a WD Caviar Blue 1TB. No issues compared to my Barracuda drives in my last (first) setup.
THE GRAPHICS CARD. I was skeptical when going for PowerColor but it was one of the best decision I ever made. Plenty of RAM to run whatever you throw at it. 1080p IS NO ISSUE AT ALL. I run 2 monitors on it (second one is irrelevant though it's 1080p). Most definitely could run a UHD or 4K setup. Powered by a Corsair CX750M just to be safe.
NXZT H230 -- Beautiful case that features hidden disk bays, and can hold up to 6 HDD's or SSD's. Has 2 intakes, and 1 exhaust. The stock fans are currently pulling air in, as a high flow Rosewill 120mm fan is pushing for exhaust. Horribly hot when the R9 390 gets going, and it gets really dusty. The dust filters are hard to clean unless you take apart the front panels.
I'm planning out my i5-6600K setup now. I really love this computer, and though it does the job I'm moving towards an editing based rig that'll need to be semi-portable.
Fantastic CPU for the price. Definitely worth saving the few $ over the FX-8350 and buying this one to OC.
It does the job, but could use aftermarket fans.
Keeps my CPU cool so I can't complain too much.
Fantastic build quality. Large heatsinks, great RAM slot placement.
Running 2 cards x16 is no issue as the USB/Audio/Front IO connector ports don't get in the way!
No issues. Performs up to par.
Better quality than previous HDD's I've owned. Great for storage and surprisingly quick for my editing needs.
A-W-E-S-O-M-E. It's the best purchase I've made as far as GPU's go. PowerColor's pricing made me skeptical when picking it up, but I haven't had an issue and it's really quiet (fans don't spin until 60C).
Beautiful case, but even with dust filters it gets dirty easily.. The white paint scratches easily and the cooling is horrible. Great for an entry/family build but not so much for performance.
No issues. Powers my build fine. Another +1 for Corsair.
It's Windows... Did you really expect more stars?
