Description
This is a good entry level gaming build that is very snappy and somewhat budget minded. I'll start off with some estimated benchmarks. For boot time, it took 15 seconds from off to sign in, pretty impressive for an HDD. Next, it is read speeds. It reads at about 110 MBPS average, again, pretty impressive for an HDD. I do not know gaming performance yet since the only game I've played on it so far is TF2, a very non-graphics intensive game.
Now I'll be doing my review section for each and every part.
$110.99 CPU: Pretty quick CPU that has only 2 physical cores, but 4 if you include logical cores. Yes, it has hyper threading so you will be able to do some video editing with this. It is a very good multitasking CPU. I had 40 "desktops" open on windows 10 while running every default windows app that it came with, and the CPU was only under 7% load. 5 stars
$69.99 Motherboard: This Motherboard was a delight to me for many reasons. First of all, it looks sick and it has a cool little dragon symbol on it. Second, the boot time. The first time I presses the power button on my case, the BIOS was up I want to say, 1-2 seconds afterward. No joke, no exaggeration, it was just that fast. Third, the drivers. Although the case I used did not exactly make installing the drivers easy, the drivers were very good once I got them installed. Bonus and side note, bonus first. The bonus is that it came with Norton Security for "free" (you had to buy the motherboard, that's why it's in quotes), and the side note is that you have to install the LAN drivers before you can connect any type of Ethernet cable and expect it to work. Other than that, pretty good. P.S, it also has overclocking options in the BIOS, pretty surprising for an H110M mobo. But I have a locked CPU so I can't try it out so, yea. Oh yea, and only one PCIe slot for a GPU. 4 stars
$34.99 RAM: Pretty quick, does what it needs to do. Looks cool too. 5 stars
$47.99 HDD: This HDD as you have seen above in the description, does a VERY good job of being fast, while also having large storage. Other than that, does what it needs to do and has a pretty low failure rate. 5 stars
$151.99 GPU: The R9 380 is a pretty good GPU, but as I have said, I have not tested any games with it so I'm not all the way sure. I have overclocked it with the drivers that come with it though, I got a 120 mhz overclock, nothing much but still worth mentioning. N/A
$74.99 NZXT S340: This is an awesome case. Good aesthetics, good cable management, and a pretty cool PSU shroud. This case is overall the very best case I have ever seen on the market and I now know why everyone likes this case. This case is sort of big, but no problems there because I was expecting this from a full tower chassis. Very roomy case and looks like it can bit the biggest of coolers, and has pretty good airflow too. Outstanding build quality. 5 stars
74.99 PSU: Very good PSU that packs a lot of power for the price. Heh, see what I did there? Power? No? ok. Well anyway, it is 80+ gold, fully modular, and pretty quiet. It is a very reliable and efficient PSU and probably the best fully modular PSU you can get for 75 bucks. Also, the cables that it provide are very sensible and there is a no compromises approach from EVGA. This is not really a con since I got it to work pretty easily, but it's still worth mentioning. The 24 pin cable was a little stiff and a little hard to bend. Oh well, it's cheap and it works very well. Another thing to mention is the build quality. It is a SeaSonic OEM. If you dont know what SeaSonic is, it is the leading PSU manufacturer in overall quality. This is why I chose the GS verion instead of G2. 5 stars.
Overall guys, this is a very nice build. I know that I most likely would have rated everything with less stars if I had used any other PC than an old Inspiron 560 until now, but to be honest I think it is a pretty quality build.
>Need dispenser here!
EDIT: About the psu, another problem is that it has all black cables. No ketchup and mustard. Also, (warning I'm going to brag) I made the wallpaper on my pc, HAHA IT'S BETTER THAN YOURS HAHA! Ok, guys, jk. But if any of you were wondering the monitor is the Samsung S24E370DL. It has wireless charging for you phone at the base.
Part Reviews
CPU
Blazing fast CPU for the price. For 110 dollars this CPU is worth every penny.
Motherboard
Pretty good mobo. Boots into BIOS as fast as a samsung SSD can load a word document I want to say. I had a hassle getting the drivers installed, but that's just because I had no optical drive for my pc and I had to use my other pc to get them on a USB. sigh*
Memory
Does what it needs to. Blazing fast.
Storage
Very fast for an HDD. Low failure rates.
Video Card
Very good video card. Got a stable 15 percent overclock out of it. Runs club penguin at 360p medium without crashing. I would call that a success.
Case
I cannot rave enough about this case, so I'll keep it short. Pros, aesthetics, build quality, cable managment, PSU shroud, cable down points, and airflow.
Cons, no optical drive bay
Power Supply
Efficient, fully modular, reliable, and cheap. What more can I ask?
