As per the title, I built this computer back in September 2016. This was my first pc build, but I wanted build suitable for gaming/streaming to last me for the upcoming years.
I manually added the price that I paid for each item because there is a huge difference in prices now compared to what they were 2 years ago. The parts with a $0.00 price tag is because I received those as a gift over the last year and a half.
When I originally built my computer in September, I snagged the Dell monitor for 50% off a Best Buy and used that for the first couple of months. Around Christmas time, my best friend bought me the Asus 1440p and I was just appalled. I had no idea and I definitely did not expect it. This was the first time that I had experienced games in 1440p and to this day, I would not go back to 1080p! As for the case fans, I had been talking about upgrading the fans in my pc for quite some time, but my S.O. and my mother surprised me with four new fans on this past Christmas, 2017. As far as the copy of Windows 10, I downloaded the ISO from Microsoft's website and installed it using a USB drive.
During August of 2017, I decided to spend little bit of money to purchase the NZXT Hue+ when it dropped in price. The fans mentioned above are also NZXT Hue, so they go hand-in-hand with the Hue+ device and they are just amazing to see in person. Thank you mom and Heather! <3
In the future, I plan to upgrade my gpu to a gtx 1080ti (When the price gouging subsides, of course!), so that I may fully utilize the capability of 1440p 144hz. I might also wait for the next generation cards, but I'm not for certain yet. Any ideas?
Performance: I play all of my games in 1440p resolution at 144hz and get an average of about 70fps on most games at Ultra settings, with the exception of AA. I tend to turn AA down a notch from Ultra to either High/Medium (depending on the game), because I don't think AA is very noticeable at 1440p resolution and it's definitely not worth the performance hit. If I had to choose an AA setting, it would either be 2x or 4x.
All feedback and criticism is welcome! Please be honest and don't be afraid to ask me questions! I also listen to suggestions and ideas!
