Description

As it says on the tin really due to cash flow issues I've been putting this together since black Friday. Only finished it today. Delighted with the build. I looked over deals and reviews constantly to make sure each piece complemented each other within reason and within my budget. I tried to get the best deal I could on each component. My only regret is that I had got the cpu and mobo before Kaby Lake came out but hey that's life. Delighted with the build otherwise. Had to send back the motherboard due to it arriving with a bent CPU pin and one of the system fans not working due to a fault on the mother board but everything running well now! Love the monitor.

I don't know how to caption the photos but they're fairly self explanatory.

Photos:

1 & 2 Humble beginnings.

3 Pre cpu and gpu build.

4 & 5 Bent CPU Pin closeups.

6 Blown sys fan controller chip

7 & 8 Crap photos of completed build.

9 & 10 External photos showcasing my hangover clothes.

11 - 13 Benchmarks

This was my first build so I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone here and on /r/buildapc on reddit for all the help!

Part Reviews

CPU

Hasn't caused me any issues, bench marking well!

Motherboard

Had to send back one due to a blown sys fan controller and a bent spu pin so it losses a mark but the replacement has been perfect.

Memory

Don't know much about ram but this is supposed to be reliable and it's benching well so I'm happy.

Storage

My first SSD feels like lightening.

Storage

A nice storage drive it works and like everything else in my build it's benching well.

Video Card

No problems so far. This is my first desktop so I've been using gpus built into laptops so far. Happy out but I've nothing to base it against.

Case

Couldn't be happier with this case. As a first time builder I had no issues at all I love it. I got the non windowed at a great price too. Only drawback is the exposed topside but I'll buy a grate for that.

Power Supply

Got this cheap as **** on black friday. Nothing's gone wrong with it yet!

Operating System

Still prefer windows 7 but I had to make use of DX12. It's fine I guess.

Wireless Network Adapter

Pretty quick speeds (100mbs down) two floors from router. Delighted.

Monitor

Delighted with this! Really by far the best monitor I've ever owned. Going from the ****** TV I was using before to this was night and day. 75hrz IPS freesynch at this price, fantastic!

Keyboard

They work great for such a cheap combo.

Hi there! Nice built, especially price wise!! ;-)I have the same GPU and was wondering how it works out for you? Also strangely enough, with the new softvare from AMD (Crimson) mine is constantly capped at 60FPS in every game!! Do you experience the same thing??

Hey, thanks. Working out well thank you. I have the gpu clocked to 1350 stable and the vram at 2200 seems to be running well but I haven't fired up anything to crazy yet. Going to try witcher three on it soon. Love freesync.

You're problem is odd. Have you messed around a bit in the additional settings part and the global settings part of the crimson software?

I know! It is odd. I havent done anything out of order; put the card into the PCI, gave it the power calbe, turned on comp, went on AMD and installed Crimson, the newest software and MSI afterburner. Thats all I`ve done. :-/

It's a badly named monitor; when you switch on freesync it runs at 75hz.

Does 75hz make any difference over 60?

Honestly I don't know. I don't play csgo or anything that you'd need over 60fps for but everything that I run at 75hz is pretty sweet looking!
