1st time PC builder :)

An animation student from Toronto, Canada so the build is pretty much for school, worked a bougie restaurant job for the summer.

Workstation mostly used for animation 3D/2D programs like (Maya, Zbrush, Toonboom, Blender, and Adobe Programs) and a bit of gaming (Overwatch and Fortnite) since i sold my PS4 and added that money to this workstation.

I did my research on and about the best CPU and GPU for what i needed for the build, also looked at what others were saying on reddit and other forums.

I went with GTX 1070 and Ryzen 7, had the Ryzen 7 2700 as there Deal of the Day for $299 at the the time so i one picked up. i kinda wanted the Ryzen 7 2700X but i think 2700 is good enough.

A few parts were used from Kijiji such as a the RAM (2x8 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 - 3000 Kit) and the Case (NZXT S340 Elite)

RAM was mad expensive so i saved a few bucks on Kijiji.

I was deciding on the (NZXT S340 Elite or NZXT S340) but read about the S340 being a scratch magnet so Elite seem like the better pick. Also i kinda didn't want to spend $140 on the Elite case but luckily i found one for $70 on Kijiji.

For the Motherboard i wanted a Zen2/+ motherboard but i didn't know which one to pick from (X470 Master SLI/ac or GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING or ASUS Prime X470-Pro) i just went the Prime X470 i saw good things about it, if you didn't need to overclock it.

Had the Samsung SSD in my Macbook so i just moved it over to this build.

i wanted a nice art monitor IPS panel and good colours so i picked the Asus PA238QR found it on Kijiji for $160. i plan to get a Wacom Cintiq some time soon so i think the PA238QR will be fine a side monitor.

I don't know much about gaming Keyboards or Mouses. i went with the highly reviewed china brand Redragon people seemed to like the K552 and Centrophorus M601, i like them so far seems decent to me.

I added a lil RGB lighting y'know lol but yeah..

this workstation was a fun build.

Part Reviews

Dope case, with a nice clean minimum look. Cable Management clips are a little flimsy but they do the job, Great case for the price.

Nice build for the budget. I use a redragon mouse and I used to redragon mechanical keyboard, but got another one with red switches. If you do any gaming you should get a 1080 144hz screen.
