Description

Hello all, I first built this computer with a Deepcool Genome Liquid cooled case and eventually decided that I did not trust it anymore after about a year and a half. So I nipped it in the bud and decided to go with a cooling kit and do it myself. I now just need to update the CPU/MOBO/RAM and the GPU as well but that is something that will wait a bit ($$$). This is my first build so feel free to destroy me.

Your RAM and motherboard aren't color-coordinated.

Consider yourself destroyed.

I am ashamed and will now proceed to toss this piece of garbage off my roof, thank you.

LeMMingSlayeR 21 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Yes. And don't come back until you have at least 10 pieces of RGB.

zknicho1 submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

I only have 7 :( unless you count my mouse and headset stand then Im at 9...

XD

I am surprised you said nothing about my god awful cable management!

LeMMingSlayeR 21 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

You used the cable grommets, and routed the CPU power cable behind the motherboard... You're doing alright.

I think another purchase in the future will be a modular PSU because those unused molex cables are killing me

Wow first comment you say... ***.

I see my playful sarcasm went over your head.

This is my first build so feel free to destroy me.

Since there's nothing wrong with this build, I decided to make a joking nitpick just to indulge the builder's wishes.

No need to be upset about it.

Man, god awful cable management and would you just look at that stupid vertical GPU.

Nah man just joking for your first build its actually really good, not to mention its watercooled. +1

Thank you for linking my post so people didnt automatically assume you are a terrible person! Yeah I needed/need to spend more time on that, but Ill do that more in-depth once I get a modular PSU and get the whole new CPU/mobo/RAM. Thanks!

Yognaught_Ace 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

you could try this https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=110-BQ-0750-V1 its semi modular and its the one i have been using for like a year in a half or 2, not a bad PSU at all, just be warned it might just be the case I have or the placement of the CPU power, But the cable just barley fit.

Yognaught_Ace 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Oh and all the cables are black and not that god awful ketchup and mustard

zknicho1 submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

That is so nice thanks! I am thinking of doing sleeving extensions with paracord or some specialized cord with the next build that I do, because yes the random colored cables are so lame...

Yognaught_Ace 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

couldn't agree more, speaking of sleeved extensions do you know anywhere that makes good ones for a good price cable mods extensions are nice but they burn a hole in the wallet

zknicho1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

What I found is that getting paracord (or some companies sell specialty paracord for this type of thing) and doing it yourself is the cheapest option, albeit alot of work, but you dont have to go all the way back into the PSU with the sleeves if they arent showing in the front of the case so you can seriously save a lot of time with that.

There is also this, have not used it myself so I cannot speak for it, just thought you may like it.

done a great job ^

Your water cooling a 6300. That’s a mistake. But your first mistake was buying a 6300 in the first place. And you cable management is like looking at my grandmas freaking pussi hairs

zknicho1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

First off, damn boi you have seen some freaky **** and I would hate to be your eyeballs. Second, the water-cooling is preemptive to getting a better CPU, and thirdly the 6300 was what balanced with the 970 at the time so I see no problem getting it.

why FX, when you can go am4?

zknicho1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I started this build almost two years ago and Ryzen was not out yet, I am looking to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 1600 or 7 1700 depending on what deals I can get.

TheNextThingYT 2 points 8 months ago

I would recommend waiting till April 2018 if you can, because will be launching there new ryzen 2, also in Q2 2018 RAM prices are expected to drop. Just a bit of advice good luck!

zknicho1 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

That sounds good to me, I have just been waiting this whole time and will continue to wait if need be, thanks for the tips!
