Description
Didn't work exactly as planned at first but after a few tweaks, I'm almost where I want it to be. I started with a different case than I hadn't seen anyone use the Zalman M1 mini itx not a bad case, but just wasn't doing it for me in terms of cable management etc. I use my computer for all kinds of things, web browsing, light gaming, some web design, database work, nothing too strenuous but hell its like driving Ferrari in the suburbs, all the power and nowhere to go. I only named this the ladder because I have kept adding on to it, and swapping a few parts out as I went. Climbing the ladder in price. Not listed I bought a daskeyboard and I absolutely love this thing.
Plan on adding some more pictures when I get done with the build. I would like to get some custom PSU wires.
i7-6700k Well honestly I really debated the CPU a lot and was settled on the 6600k until I stumbled upon a price of $365 on Amazon I really couldn't think twice and just bought it. Is it awesome of course, do I need this much silicone horsepower absolutely not. Will it blaze through anything I ever throw I at for sure!
Thermaltake Water 3.0 This thing may not be the prettiest cooler, the price was right and it performs very well for all intents and purposes. I liked that it was a simple black and white color scheme. The only complaint I had was the back plate it not really convenient to install.
Asus Z170I PRO Gaming All the features I could ask for an ITX board. Fast internet, M.2 slot, everything seems right to me. Big price, big options, seemed like a logical choice for me when I was shopping for a motherboard.
Corsair Vengeance *It's fast, clean simple look worked for what I was looking for."
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Really no complaints it shreds benchmarks and I thought the price was well worth it. Since it mounts on the backside of the motherboard I was quite content going with it over the 950 which is black.
Sandisk Ultra 960GB Very fast for second hard drive no issues with the drive and I found at a price I couldn't pass up.
XFX Radeon R9 380X Seems okay to me for now. I know it really is weak in terms of the rest of the build but I didn't want to dump a ton in until the new GPUs come out this summer. Handles everything I have done quite well, for now.
Phanteks MicroATX *Really love this thing. Great cable management seems to be built like a tank a definite step up from the first case ordered. So I decided on sending that one back. Settled on the Phanteks MATX case in black, a little big for an ITX build but I was happy with the slight increase in size to give myself a the option to switch boards et cetera in the future.
Rosewill It's a decent power supply probably not the best choice for my build but it seems to function just fine. I purchased this a while back by accidentally clicking buy now on Amazon so I decided to run with it. If it gives me fits or I need more power I will switch it out.
