Description

This is a build log of a custom built and designed by me to have the smallest footprint for the parts in the build. The case is made out of aluminum making it extremely light for a water-cooled system at 25lbs. All cables were custom made by me except for the PCI cable and SATA power cable which was done by WazzModz, all the cables were sleeved using MDPC-X. The fittings and Aluminum cable combs were sponsored by Nanoxia USA. Their 16mm OD fittings where used which made the build more of a challenge due to the small chassis and tight tolerances but I liked the larger tubing so it was worth the challenge. The intel 8700k was delid using the RockitCool delid kit and Copper IHS this really helped push my CPU to 5.1GHZ at 50c under load. Both the CPU and my Gigabyte 1080ti OC edition were cooled by a single Black GTS 280mm radiator. The coolant is Nanoxia's UV Green which really decided the theme of the build since I wanted to incorporated UV since I got a little tired or the RGB Craziness.

Inspiring work, well done! +1

May I ask about the lower tube though: It seems not to be aligned, which looks a bit out of place given that the rest of the tubes looks perfect in this regard. Is there any particular reason you left it the way it is?

Yes there have been many other people who asked about this tube this was the only way it could be run because its right up against the side window. I attempted maybe 15 times to try and get that run to look straight but just wasn't possible.

It wasn't easy but definitely worth it.

Very nice, but the tube in front of the graphics card is short

Did you rivet the hole case or a combination of welding/rivets/screws? Looks awesome well done quite the inspiration to by built from scratch and look awesome! +1

The whole case was built using rivets. Nuts and bolts were used temporarily in the build stages till the case was finalized then riveted. Not a single weld.

Wow what a build. Definitely deserve a feature. Very impressive work with the custom loop and custom case!

The crafting, the temps, the industrial look with the UV... I smell a feature too! And bvy that I do not mean the 8700K! x'D

For real! Me beeing a mechatronic technician, I love these projects! Aswell the cable Clips . How are the gpu temps? I asume there aren't exceeding 50°C.

  • 2 points

The cable clips are amazing, their extremely durable and made out of solid aluminum. GPU temps never go over 50C the barrow block covers every part of the PCB. Glad that you liked the build.

Then I need to get these clips and the gpu block aswell for the next build _ You did not just bougth aprts you like and trough them into a case. You had yourself involved in the build as much as you can. How can I not like our passion :D

It really is a totally different feeling when designing something from scratch, those cable clips are from nanoxia and they recently came out with a gunmetal version and they look amazing.

Ohh I know this feeling :D nanoxia...thanks! Gunmetal is one of my faves :S damn, I need to get those for the next build

Nice build. But WTF is that first picture? Is it a 3d render or are you using a $50000 Camera with a $1000 backdrop and $ 429 lights?

  • 1 point

Thank you for the compliment and glad you liked the build, its actually a 30$ panel light with a 600$ canon t6 camera and white foam core as the background and base.

I have 2 watercooled builds and both have nothing but uv coolant and uv leds!! I like that much better that the rainbow look! This is absolutely amazing!! It actually needs more pictures of the case build!

Probably the best build I've seen! Will be Featured for sure!!

Its a completely different look since you dont have to worry about color accuracy from the RGB. Nanoxia has alot of different UV products and their UV lights are very bright. The pictures of the case build werent able to be uploaded becuase there was an error with the website, If you would like to see all the photos of the process you can check my Instagram @ds.customs and click on the #venomslate in my bio for all the photos.

I just had to look... I am using the same uv strips on my Zombie Hunter 2 build and my HTPC build. They are the best. I have 3 in the zombie and only one in my htpc build. There really good

do you rate the nanoxia fans, i wanted to create a silent bild using them, whats your opinion of the sound characteristics ? are they as quiet as advertised?

  • 1 point

The fans I used are decently quite but their have a 120mm special silence optimized fans. I wasn't able to use this because I decided to go with a 280mm radiator.

The build was made special because of the parallel runs. I wasn't able to make that bottom tube straight due to the tolerances between the tube and the side panel.

Anything can be done with a little bit of modding.
