I've been building this thing for a long time. It began as a little $600 experiment and became, well, this. Katara sits comfortably above the "high-end PC" benchmark in 3DMark 11 with a score of about 10.8K. Some of the parts aren't as awesome as the ones around them and that's because they came from my old budget build and I wasn't as educated as I am now.
PS: If you haven't figured it out, it's called Katara because she's my favourite waterbender and the build is blue.
PPS: Sorry for potato photos and scary pink monster under my bed.
CPU: Just an awesome processor, I haven't done much with the overclock yet as you can see, but I plan on throwing everything I've got at it and possibly de-lidding when the warranty expires.
CPU Cooler: One of, if not the best AIO cooler on the market. This thing is whisper quiet at idle and doesn't get much louder at full load thanks to the adjustable pump speed.
Motherboard: I did have a few weird problems with this mobo at the start, the weirdest of which being the PC automatically turning on in the middle of the night and waking me up because of the lights (I thought I was being abducted by aliens). However, a very simple BIOS update fixed the issues and now my only complaint would be the oversized heatsink above the CPU causing some annoying radiator clearance issues.
Memory: Very good value for the performance of these modules, I'm very impressed and I've had no issues with them at all.
SSD: I bought this before I was properly educated on SSDs. I really should've gotten an 840 EVO but I suppose this one gets the job done. Boot times are ~12-14s.
WD Green: Again, I was uneducated and this one was cheap. It's very slow and playing games like Skyrim with lots of loading times is an absolute nightmare.
SAMSUNG HD161HJ: I ripped this out of an old family PC, it actually performs better than the WD Green despite it being a SATA 2 drive due to its higher RPM.
Graphics Card: Truly amazing. I'm able to max out everything and get ~120 fps while doing so, I'll need a new monitor simply because the resolution and refresh rate can't keep up with this amazing card.
Case: The H440 is one sexy case and was available in blue/black so I got it. I don't need a disc drive so it's perfect for me. My only complaint is that the marks you can see in the photos are impossible to get off. Seriously, I used spray and wipe, windex, methylated spirits, nothing worked.
PSU: A nice, efficient power supply from a reliable brand. No complaints here.
OS: Picked this up from g2a.com for 25 bucks. I like it, don't judge me.
BenQ EW2440L: This monitor is actually awesome. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a 1080p 60Hz monitor (everyone).
ViewSonic VA1916w: Another salvage from a family PC. It's pretty old and has a 16:10 aspect ratio so I use it as a secondary monitor and not for gaming.
Fan: It's a fan.
Keyboard: Highly recommended for someone who prefers chiclet keys. The LEDs had a few issues, but nothing a quick reboot didn't fix.
The Ouroboros is a really sexy mouse. It also allows you to customise its physical shape and length as well as assigning anything to its 9 buttons using Razer's Synapse software. Scroll wheel broke after one month of use and sensor was messed up from the start. Stay away from Razer, they charge more than their competitors and provide an inferior product.
Lighting: Bitfenix alchemy blue LED strip, pretty cool.
Speakers: My uncle had these lying around so he gave them to me. They're not bad.
