Description

The upgrades continue and my Hero GTX 950 build is already in its forth generation \o/

What's new? Well! I've taken out the DVD drive which freed up a the budget to upgrade my wireless from the little TP-Link N300 to an awesome AC + Bluetooth module and switched the WD HDD to a silver Seagate Barracuda as I've has a really good run with seagate lately. I also moved to using just Gigabyte components inside whenever possible which gives the interior a cleaner, more uniform look.

On that note the graphics card is amazing, I'd not used the dual fan gigabyte version before this and it's really quiet and overclocks like a champ if you want to push things up (I got it to just behind a stock GTX 960 in the final fantasy benchmark, will keep pushing)

Price wise I think the build is getting pretty tough to beat, the i5-6400 is great little CPU for gaming with and also gives a nice upgrade path as it hits the recommended specs for a VR ready system (on the CPU side that is, the GTX 950 needs a bit of an upgrade for this) but if you wanted to use an RX 480 you should be just fine (I will test this again with new drivers very soon)

Ram wise I've stuck with the black HyperX Fury 2133MHz DDR4, it's reliable, fast and looks great in the build.

Chassis wise I still can't get over how good the Zalman Z3+ is especially for the price, 4 fans included + a fan controller and GPU support bar. Even though I'm no longer using the white graphics card that is responsible for the original build = https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/b/98GfrH I just can't bring myself to change the chassis.

Performance wise the GTX 950 + i5-6400 playlist is coming along nicely but if you want anything tested just lemme know and i'll do my best to post a quick test for it = https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtxHocGsjK_PNAXipsj8E86F-8_7SceXe

New badges on the side are looking great, I think I like the silver ones a little too much :P https://www.instagram.com/p/BG-2lsCQDDV/?taken-by=goodgamingpc

With the CPU stickers you can make these at home if you're wanting to make that stock CPU cooler look a little different (15mm diameter) and you can peel the intel stickers off pretty easily.

What's next for Hero? I'm on the hunt for a reliable 400w PSU with black cables and also a CPU cooler, my eyes are currently on the Deepcool Archer as it's pretty well priced and looks nice but if you know something else that would look awesome just let me know and i'll check it out. Maybe a new chassis, maybe the same chassis in black?

Anyways hope you like it!

I use a special one but sadly it's not PCPartPicker so I just select that one :P(details are in description for first gen hero)

Nice build! I'd be careful with that PSU though, definitely try to get at least an 80+ one (preferably Bronze/Gold if you can afford it). The power supply breathes life into the system, but it can also singlehandedly brick every single component you have.
