After 18 years console gaming I have finally ascended to the PCMR after my longstanding Xbox clan migrated over.

I live in a one bedroom flat in the centre of Bristol so, after reorganising the living room, purchased a small desk that could fit in the corner of the room.

Having come from Xbox I had plans to purchase the Xbox One X along with a new 4K TV but decided with my fiance that it would be better if i was tucked away in the corner with a headset on rather than hogging the sofa and TV at every opportunity.

I felt as though I needed to build something quite powerful that would be able to run games at 4K 60fps as this would be an upgrade from the Xbox One X and a huge leap from my Xbox One! Having discussed with my clan mates, I decided to go for top-of-the-line CPU and GPU, supported with some mid-tier components to try and keep the cost down a bit.

Aesthetics was another concern as, living in an open plan apartment, the PC would be on display to every friend, family member and visitor who stopped by!

And so, my Captain Phasma build was born.

Hope you like it as much as I do!

That's a very nice build, but why did you went with a blower style graphics card? You didn't pick a bad graphics card( its a 1080 Ti after all ), but most people who go with blower style graphics cards are early adopters and those who Build in a small case.

Nice build my man. Quick question for you though. How was the space with your top mounted radiator and the rest of the build? Did you have plenty of room or was it a tight squeeze? I'm thinking of buying the cheap 460x and buying my own fans just like you did, let me know how the build worked for you!

Great build and welcome to the better side of gaming. Definitely looks like you went top of line on your components which will provide some future proofing. Plus a few years down the road with another GTX 1080 Ti in SLI will bring right back on top. Have you run any benchmarks on the system yet?
