Description

Have been wanting to build a gaming computer for years, never had the money to do it. Finally sat down and made a list of everything that I wanted because my macbook pro couldn't handle half the games I wanted to play. I did a whole bunch of research on how parts compliment each other and what will work the best for gaming. I probably watched hundreds of hours of youtube videos, from building PC's to part guides to installing drivers and other software. Had the help of a computer technician that I work with to build with me and guide me through the process. Overall I am super happy to finally own the computer of my dreams, it literally runs anything I throw at it flawlessly.

(Edit) Have purchased 3 case fans.

Part Reviews

CPU

Beastly CPU, although it runs hotter than most CPU's it will handle anything and everything you throw at it. I mainly use it for gaming/streaming/editing and it works flawlessly.

CPU Cooler

Great AIO for the price. Super quiet fans and really great performance while under load. Keeps my 7700k really cool while idle and under load. Great price/performance.

Motherboard

Mainly got this motherboard for the wifi, since I have no real way of using an ethernet cable. Motherboard is made very well and looks beautiful due to the RGB lighting. Great price/performance.

Memory

Super fast ram so I won't need to upgrade anytime soon. Highly recommend.

Storage

Supposedly the fastest SSD on the market and I won't disagree. This thing is a beast and my computer starts up in about 10 seconds. Use it mainly for my steam library but is nice for other applications.

Storage

Chose this because of all the positive reviews on it. Runs great haven't had any problems.

Video Card

Super fast card, it handles any and all games I throw at it on ultra settings. I call it the triple A killer. Although it is around $100 more than a 1070 that extra power is worth it if you have the money to spend.

Case

Super clean case, nice tempered glass windows. Building in it was a breeze with all the room and holes for cables and such. Reminds me of the NZXT Elite for a better price. Highly recommend.

Power Supply

Great PSU, won't need to upgrade this anytime soon. Mainly got this 650 as a future proof PSU as I intend to upgrade/add some parts in the near future.

Monitor

The best bang for your buck when it comes to 1440p, 144hz and G-SYNC! Great display and has profiles for different color settings. It is amazing paired with a powerful graphics card.

Keyboard

Nice RGB mechanical keyboard that surprisingly is made very well and feels great to type on. Does not feel cheap at all. Great price/what you get.

Mouse

Awesome mouse with insane DPI that I will probably never use. However the RGB lighting is very nice. When I ordered the mouse I thought it would be quite small considering I have big hands. But, surprisingly it fits my hand perfectly and feels amazing. Great for gaming.

The LED strip came with the case and it is really bright. Also, as you may already know there is a little LED strip in the front that is already pre-installed. Thank you by the way, it was a pleasure building it!

Funny thing... my build I built 2 months ago is very similar to this, almost identical. I have the EXACT same case, gpu, and ram. My cpu is the 8700k, just one gen up from yours and my MOBO is the strix z370e, similar to yours. My psu is also a 650w from EVGA, but it's fully modular. My pc is also around the same price as yours, but I got the gpu for free. From "experience", I would say that this is a beast of a pc! here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6nCbt6

Yeah definitely a beast of a PC. I love it and I can still play just about any game on Ultra 60fps on 1440p. Since you have a "better" build than me lol you will have no problem running any game you want. Your build looks really nice.
